it's spring break!

not that we're going anywhere, never do. But the kids love having a week off. Of course, Max has a project for TV class he needs to be working on. I pestered him about it Saturday and got wailings of "but it's SPRING BREAK! When is a kid supposed to relax?????" Mind you, he spit it out with a straight face too ;0)

Sunday was the big Pancake Breakfast at church. It went very well, and we even got out 45 minutes earlier than last year. Best of all, I got to take home some scrambled eggs -- JB Martin makes the yummiest eggs! I wish he still had his resteraunt, *sigh*

Let's see, yesterday was exciting -- it was errand day and so we went to two pool stores to do some research about getting a real above ground pool. We had the blowup one two years ago (not compatable with cats! They tend to poke holes in the ring of air around the top because they think it's nifty to walk along that ring of air. . . . .yeah, the one that keeps the pool from collapsing!) and then a sturdier, put-together frame one last year. We'd put last year's back up, but, um, well . . . . . . . . some very serious wind came along before we took it down, but after we drained the water, and literally folded the darn thing in half!! We have to order several new parts to replace the ones that are ruined. We'll take that as a sign from above that it's time to move on to a real pool. Most of those who know us, know that we do not have air conditioning -- not in the house, not in the car, and even at my office it only half works! So a pool is our AC. See, that helps rationalize the expense! We're thinking a 24 foot round, partially inground, but technically above ground pool. I'm really excited!!
